Head Power Helix 5000 Badminton Racquet
Product Features
- Key Benefits: Power & Maneuverability
- Flex Index: Easy Flex
- Headsize: 360 sq. cm. / 55.8 sq. in.
- Head Shape: Power Frame
- RHD00163
Product Description
The visible silver Power Helix spiral in the shaft is combined with Head’s proven Metallix material in the racquet head and T-joint for even more power and control. The additional Energy Body technology ensures less air resistance to further maximize speed, power and maneuverability.
Power Helix - Incorporated into the racquet shaft, PowerHelix has a unique spiral structure that provides up to 56% more flexibility than regular carbon components. While still maintaining maximum control, PowerHelix’s increased flexibility provides a tremendous power release for incredibly fast shots.
Metallix - No chain is strong enough to harness the power of Head Metallix. Made of a specially designed matrix of carbon fibers and a new crystalline metal alloy, Metallix is one of the lightest and strongest new materials available today.
The alloy's grain size is 1,000 times smaller than that of a typical metal. The decreased grain size translates into increased performance, or, as the Hall-Petch Effect states: smaller grains – stronger material. The result is a lighter, stronger and more powerful racquet than ever before.
Energy Body is a frame design that is slimmer from the 11 o’clock to the 1 o’clock positions on the top of the racquet. This design ensures less air resistance, for more speed, more power and better maneuverability.
Top Cap creates a flat top surface on the handle, providing excellent hold on serving, maximum grip control for double play and optimal handling for fast speed reaction.
Weight: 85 g.
Balance: 285 mm
Length: 675 mm
Composition/Construction: 30% High-modulus graphite, 70% graphite
Shaft: Hotmelt with 2-piece molding
Recommended String Tension: 22-28 lbs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Graphite Racquet for the Price, October 11, 2009
By Greg Lee (Stoughton, WI USA)
This review is from: Head NanoPower 500 Badminton Racquet (Misc.)
As a recreational player I was searching for a racquet that would provide me with above average power and control at a below average price. After hours of searching I thought I'd wind up buying a Yonex but at the last moment I gave the NanoPower a try. I'm glad I did. It hits like a $150 Yonex. The strange part is the sound off the racket. I'm fairly sure I'm generating the same power as those hitting with a Yonex, but my NanoPower 500 doesn't create the same sound. It really shouldn't matter (and doesn't) but at first I thought there might be a crack in the frame or a very tight string job - neither seems to be the case. Acoustics aside, this is a great bargain regardless of your skill level.
